Oh. My. Gosh. Did we just get a good Terry-centric episode? It's almost unbelievable. And it absolutely has made me like her just a little bit more. In fact, I'm going to bypass the life lesson stylings of The Cannon and Danny in favor of Terry's tentative venture into dating.
It starts with typical awkwardness and sitcom shenanigans that interfere with Terry and Mustachioed Douche getting together. (Were you surprised to discover he was a tool? You shouldn't be. Look at that mustache.) The Cannon pulls out all of the stops and pulls the team into his crazy plotting. Even Head Coach Jerkwad got involved.
Ultimately, though, Terry sold it by her handling of Mustachioed Douche. The Cannon revealed that Terry wasn't Mustachioed Douche's only paramour, and while Terry initially covered for him, her handling of his socially accepted but ultimately disrespectful dating attitude is awesome. Dating has become a UFC, anything goes sport that reduces people to numbers (How I Met Your Mother knows this well), and Terry has no patience for it. She quickly decides that she deserves better and should hold out for it.
This is the first time I have been excited about Terry. Or even interested. I hope the focus stays on humanizing her, though i never say no to the Cannon doing anything. Back in the Game continues to be a solid sitcom.
